our story
As the mom of three girls, I had been scouring the Greater Toronto Area to try to find a recreational hockey program for girls that runs once a week, on weeknights only, in which girls could play hockey just for fun, fitness and camaraderie.
There were none.
I decided to create a hockey program tailored specifically to the needs of adolescent girls.
The only problem was, my own hockey skills aren’t worth teaching!
I reached out to a friend from high school who lives, eats and breathes hockey coaching, who built our coaching staff and the TGHL on-ice program.
We began our inaugural 2021-22 season with 15 girls (many of whom had never played) and by the end of the season, we’d grown to a force of 40+ confident, skilled skaters, shooters and scorers.
We’re excited to continue to grow our league, and hope you can join us in doing so!

About our logo
Our TGHL logo was developed in our inaugural season by the players themselves. We held a contest, and the final logo was designed as a composite of all the entires submitted. Check out some of these original creations that inspired that design!
